No write up yet on E3, don’t know if one is coming now lol. But in the meantime, I’ve been asked what I thought was great and “Best of Show” So in the interest of time, I’ve done the easiest thing I could do, compile a list. So here’s my TOP 10. 10 Game announcments Im excited for. This is just opinion so please no debate. This is just what I liked that I will throw money down for on Day1. As for “Non-game” annoucements, like Wii-U or SMARTGlass, I’ll write up on that at a later point. Enjoy.
10. SOUTH PARK : THE STICK OF TRUTH (XBLA)
I thought this looked great. Trey & Matt came on stage to intro this. An RPG set in South Park? Im down. A chance to be the 5th friend in the crew? Sold. Im a huge SP fan & this was a no brainer.
9. TOMB RAIDER (XB360, PS3, PC)
I never thought Id like a Tomb Raider game. This looks great. There’s some controversy over some aspect of the story, but the gameplay is what matters & TR delivered. Assassins Creed 3 looks great, but this is the action adventure game Im more excited about.
8. ZONE OF ENDERS HD COLLECTION (PS3)
Ok, this isnt really a “new” title, but Im wayyyyyyy excited. Z.O.E. 1 & 2 were two of my FAVORITE games on PS2. To have them back in glorious 1080p on 1 disc and get another MGS demo thrown in, I’m pre-ordering now!
7. ESV : SKYRIM : DAWNGUARD (XB360, PS3, PC)
Alright, again, not a “new” game but a Bethesda expansion pack is almost a game in of itself and one to 2011’s GOTY? Thats going to be epic! A return to SKYRIM, focusing on vampires? DONE.
6. THE LAST OF US (PS3)
NAUGHTYDOG has never been a favorite developer of mine. I dont hate their games, but not a huge fan. The UNCHARTED series is great for what it is, but never held me the way others did. This may change that. Im actually really excited for a PS3 exclusive. Who knew?
5. STAR WARS : 1313 (PC)
This. Looks. AMAZBALLS! Seriously, did you see that demo? Im not one for graphics, but bring on the next-gen!! Right now it’s confirmed for PC. ( A VERY high-end PC) but I suspect this will release on the Next XBOX or PS4. An “M” rated SW game is a much needed jolt of life this franchise needed.
4. SPLINTER CELL : BLACKLIST (XB360)
MuthaFrackin Sam Fisher is BACK!! Im so excited for this. I love this series. The return of SPIES vs MERCS !! I’m just so happy about this annoucement.
3. WATCHDOGS (XB360, PS3)
Alot of people are calling this “Game of Show” I thought it was amazing too. A new IP that looks too good to be true. The recreation of Chicago is spot-on. The tech is awesome, the theme & setting feel perfect. Look for this to be one of the best games released this year.
2. HALO 4 (XB360)
I’m pumped. I’ll admit Im a “halo” guy as to “call of duty” REACH was great, & I thought a pefect end to the series. I knew MS would continue in some way, but I didnt guess a straight up part 4. The return of chief. This looks like the spiritual sequel of Metroid Prime and that’s not a bad thing. 343 Industries are bringing the much needed change to the series and the result is something that looks almost as fresh as HALO : CE did b ack in ‘01. Sign me up.
1. BEYOND : TWO SOULS (PS3)
The new thriller from Quantic Dream, the creators of one of my favorite games, HEAVY RAIN. I’ve been waiting for something new from them for a while. They put the “act” in “action” They tell incredible stories and create believable worlds. This is a day 1 purchase. This is a reason to fire up the PS3. It stars Ellen Page! What more do you want? Look it up (like an of these titles) and tell me it doesn’t look fantastic. My pick of “Game of Show”
